The great Victorian conservatories were not gardens. They were arguments — about order, about beauty, about the human capacity to frame the natural world and make it legible.

This chair is upholstered in a pattern that carries that argument into the domestic interior. Two symmetrical botanical columns rise along the sides of the backrest — Papaver in deep amber, Amanita clusters at mid-height, fern fronds and trailing stems winding upward in forest green and warm ochre — while the centre of the back remains a field of deep, uninterrupted ebony. The composition is architectural: the botanicals function as pilasters, framing a void that is as deliberate as the decoration itself.

Seen from the front, the chair presents its full botanical border. Seen from behind, the columns frame the sitter like a portrait. It is, in the most precise sense, a chair designed to be looked at from every angle.
